Sometimes we get so wrapped up into living life and working that we forget to pause to share a bit about good news behind the scenes at Hobbs Realty. Our #Hobbspitality Team is invested year-round in our local community, as well as outreach efforts around the globe.
The following is a snapshot of ways we’ve put our hearts and words into action as a team with our Hobbs Helping Hands program. In addition to causes supported by individual team members throughout the year, our most recent update as a team includes:
Samaritan's Purse — We donated many shoeboxes overflowing with supplies and gifts as part of Operation Christmas Child, which were air delivered to children in desperate situations across the world.
COVID-19 Relief — This year’s Samaritan’s Purse efforts included providing relief to areas greatly impacted by the pandemic.
Local School Children — A time-honored tradition at Hobbs Realty is our team sponsoring local school children for Christmas. In 2020, we sponsored 20 families in the community through our local schools.
Angel Tree Prison Ministry — Once again, we sponsored 10 children for Christmas whose parents are imprisoned. It allows those kids to receive gifts from their absent parent(s) during a season which is very difficult to be separated from family.
Salvation Army — Hobbs Realty partnered with the regional Salvation Army for a tri-county area to help address local needs.
Owner Donations — When Hobbs Realty property owners are conducting upgrades for or remodeling their island homes, we’ve continued to work with them to help facilitate donations of gently-used furniture or household items for local people in need.
Food Ministries and Support — Hobbs Realty has diligently worked alongside several key outreaches to help ensure good and/or healthy food is put to good use during the high season, including A Second Helping and the Sharon UMC Food Pantry – for which rental guests are encouraged to donate their unused food to the community instead of throwing it away – and Vacation Vittles, a program in which guests have the opportunity to support local farmers by pre-purchasing fresh produce for their Holden Beach stay.
Local Churches — Churches are an integral part of the local Holden Beach community. The Hobbs family has continued to be faithful in its support of Sharon UMC, including a donation to its new education building, which will serve as a center for important ministries and outreaches for the local community.
Cedar Grove Improvement Association — Hobbs Realty has supported this vital Holden Beach area community and its annual fundraising banquet and program to help continue to provide a home-base for tutoring and connectional activities in its community building.
The list goes on, but you get the idea. Community is important to us. We love where we live, work, and play. And we appreciate the ways our #Hobbspitality team, our guests, our homeowners, and our vendors contribute all year long.
