At Hobbs Realty, our hearts go out to those affected by Hurricane Helene across North Carolina and the southern regions. As always, we're committed to stepping up and lending a helping hand to those in need, both near and far. It’s moments like these when our community comes together to show incredible compassion, and we are proud to be a part of that.
UPDATE 10/9/24: Our team is organizing donations, including extra guest amenity kits filled with hygiene essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and more. We're also gathering items like paper towels, blankets, and other supplies that could make a real difference for those facing hardship right now. We have partnered with our local linen provider, Care Linens, who just delivered a second round of donations, including blankets and additional supplies, to our neighbors in the mountains!
If you have any items you'd like to contribute, feel free to bring them by Hobbs Realty. We’ll ensure they reach trusted organizations working on the ground to provide relief. We’ve already made contributions to Samaritan’s Purse and the Salvation Army, and we’re matching any additional donations made through our Helping Hands benefit.
We’ve also identified several local drop-off points where donations are being collected. Here’s where you can drop off items:
- Highest Praise Church on Wednesday, 10/2, and Sunday, 10/6
- Carolina Creations Truck at Lowe’s in Shallotte, 10 AM - 5 PM all week
- The Frying Pan, Southport, taking donations all week (leave items under the building if no one is there)
- Host & Graze, Sunset Beach, 10 AM - 5 PM daily, with multiple trips planned
Items in high demand include hygiene products, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food, bottled water, and baby essentials like diapers and formula. Every contribution counts, no matter how small. If you know of any additional needs or drop-off locations, please let us know. We welcome any ideas on how we can further support these efforts.
