Now celebrating over 50 years of Holden Beach history! Our town was recognized as a treasure here in Brunswick County, North Carolina in 2019. Even though we're a few years older and wiser now, we still love to celebrate Holden Beach and its family-centered traditions and culture.

Every year between May and mid-August, sea turtles find their way to Holden Beach to lay their eggs. Learn more about sea turtles, their annual migration to Holden Beach, and how to help aid sea turtle preservation.

After over a decade of planning and work, our community was happy to see a vision come to life with the opening of the Shallotte Riverwalk the summer of 2021. It's a lovely boardwalk that winds along the Shallotte River for 1/4 of a mile.
